New Opportunity for Sibenik Shipyard
Sibenik shipyard NCP agreed on a 50 million euro to construct the fishing fleets of the Republic of Ghana. Highly Ghanaian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development Hon Aquinas Quansahom arrived today in Sibenik, and after a meeting with the owner NCP Goran Prgin, Mayor Zeljko Buric and Prefect Goran Pauk, announced that building of 20 fishing boats is just beginning of mutual cooperation. Owner NCP Goran Prgin stressed that the construction of the fishing fleet in Ghana will be one of the biggest contracts in Croatia.
”Our delegation has twice been in Ghana, and today we work and formally agreed and is soon expected to sign a contract. The deal is worth about 50 million euros, and the ships will be built in the next four years” said Mr Goran Prgin.
New contract will allow between 50 and 70 new employees. Ghana is a huge market, a fast-growing country in Africa with a GDP growth rate of 11 percent. In addition to fishing fleets, Ghanian representatives were also interested in building of boats for fishing farms and catamarans.
